Artist Statement
Katheryn Bajo is a mother, architect, activist, and multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. As a practicing facade consultant, she has contributed to a diverse range of projects throughout the Northeast, including schools, universities, museums, libraries, airports, laboratories, hospitals, and multifamily residential buildings. Her artwork draws from social constructs and myths, recording processes, and technical analysis. Manifesting through found-object sculpture and archival techniques, oil painting, performance, research & writing, video, and sound, her art is grounded in tectonics, her practice examines the relationship between memory, infrastructure, and personal agency.
