Artist Statement
Katheryn Bajo is a mother, architect, activist, and multidisciplinary artist in New York City. As a practicing architect, she has contributed to a diverse portfolio of Northeast projects, including schools, universities, museums, libraries, airports, laboratories, hospitals, and multifamily residential buildings. Her art, inspired by technical analysis and design, manifests through performance, found object sculpture, oil paint, research essays, video, and audio recording. Her work embodies a dynamic synthesis of craft, tectonics, law, art, science, and personal empowerment, grounded in technical expertise, humor, and a commitment to community service.
