Artist Statement

Katheryn Bajo is a mother, architect, activist, and multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. As a practicing facade consultant, she has contributed to a diverse range of projects throughout the Northeast, including schools, universities, museums, libraries, airports, laboratories, hospitals, and multifamily residential buildings. Her work draws from technical analysis, municipal systems, and material observation, manifesting through found-object sculpture, oil painting, performance, research writing, video, and sound. Grounded in tectonics, law, preservation, and civic participation, her practice examines the relationship between bureaucracy, memory, infrastructure, and personal agency.
